Loves Park, IL (Sunday, March 30, 2008) – The 61st season of racing at the Rockford Speedway will open April 5-6 at the famed Loves Park, IL facility. The weekend will include an open practice and Media Day on Saturday, April 5th and a 200-lap 4-cylinder Enduro on Sunday, April 6th.
For the first time in 2008, the sound of engines will erupt on Saturday, April 5th for an open practice session for all divisions competing this season at quarter-mile high-banked oval. The track will be opened from Noon until 4 p.m.
Members of the Media are also invited to visit the Speedway on Saturday afternoon to get a preview of the 2008 season and to visit with some of the competitors and Rockford Speedway staff. On Sunday, April 6th, the first event of the season will take place with the WXRX 104.9FM Stone & Double T 200-lap 4-cylinder Enduro at 1 pm.
General admission tickets are only $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for ages 6-11. 5 and under are free.

Tickets are on sale now for the 31st Annual Spring Classic presented by Yellowbook on Sunday, April 13th starting at 1:00 pm. The Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet will be competing in a 100-lap feature along with the Mid-American Series competing in a 50-lap feature event.
