CAMBRIDGE, WI (Friday, August 01, 2008) – For the second year in a row RK Race Promotions has teamed up with The Milwaukee Mile to promote the Wisconsin All-Star 100 with Matt Kenseth as part of The Mile’s Annual Governor’s Cup Weekend.
On Sunday, August 24, Matt Kenseth will be joined by NASCAR points leader Kyle Busch and the best super late model racers in the Midwest in the Wisconsin All-Star 100 with Matt Kenseth event.
For the first time, this special event will be a championship points event for the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment, which will increase the competition for Kenseth, who won convincingly last August in a 50-lap race at The Mile.
“With Matt coming back to defend his win at The Mile last year, along with Kyle Busch coming to compete with the best Super Late Model drivers in the ASA Midwets Tour and the race doubling to 100 laps, I think the fans will see a great race,” Roy Kenseth of RK Race Promotions stated.
One of the staples with any RK Race Promotions event is a special hospitality package he offers to fans.
A Matt Kenseth Hospitality Package is being offered for Sunday, August 24 prior to the running of the Wisconsin All-Star 100 with Matt Kenseth race.
The package includes a Matt Kenseth-autographed and laminated hospitality pass to gain access to a private, climate-controlled building where finger food and beverages will be provided. A reserved 400-level grandstand race ticket (top section, blue seats) is included, plus there’ll be a question and answer session with Matt Kenseth on race morning. And now…for a limited time, a pit/paddock pass will also be included with the hospitality package. Price is $75 per person.
To order a Matt Kenseth Hospitality package, including pit pass, visit www.mattkenseth.com or www.asamidwesttour.com to download the order form. The order form is also available on top of the home page of this site.
This past June, Kenseth had a taste of what’s to come at The Mile on August 24th, as many of the ASA Midwest Tour competitors raced with the 2003 NASCAR champion in the RK Race Promotions Swiss Colony All-Star Challenge event at Madison Int’l Speedway. Kenseth finished 2nd to ASA Midwest Tour standout Steve Carlson in that 100-lap super late model event.
“I am very excited to have the ASA Midwest Tour associated wit this race,” Kenseth said. “I’ve been very impressed with the series and Matt recently raced with them at Iowa Speedway and had a lot of fun racing with them. They have a great group of drivers who are well known in the Midwest.”
Several of the ASA Midwest Tour stars including Carlson, past Governor’s Cup super late model event winner Dan Fredrickson, defending ASA Midwest Tour champion Nathan Haseleu, third-generation racer Travis Sauter, and Wisconsin standouts Chris Wimmer and Tim Schendel among many others will all be racing for the honors of beating Kenseth and Busch to The Mile’s A.J. Foyt Victory Lane in the Sunday afternoon showdown. For more on the ASA Midwest Tour, visit www.asamidwesttour.com.
It will be a one day format for the Wisconsin All-Star 100 with Matt Kenseth competitors on Sunday, August 24. Practice and qualifying will take place in the morning, with a last chance race and 100-mile main event scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. green flag.
Kenseth and Busch are scheduled to race in the NASCAR race in Bristol, Tenn. the night before and be at the track to participate in Sunday morning practice.
