CAMBRIDGE, WI (Tuesday, August 25, 2009) – This Saturday night will be memorable as Matt Kenseth, the 2009 Daytona 500 champion, will get behind of the wheel of a Madison International Speedway weekly late model and will compete in a twin 50-lap feature event that will also have his 16-year-old son, Ross, racing in the same event for the first time ever. The racing action will get underway at 7:00 p.m.
Matt and Ross will be competing with the MIS weekly Rockweiler Insulation Late Models in a twin 50-lap feature event that will pay the overall winner $3,000 and each driver that starts both features will get at least $500.
Joining the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models will be the Mid-American Stock Car Series who will be competing in a “Split 50” feature event, an event that will be raced in two 25-lap segments.
THERE WILL BE VIP TICKETS ON SALE ON RACE DAY!!!!
RK Race Promotions will be hosting a VIP party which is scheduled to open 2:00 p.m. and will stay open until racing begins at 7:00 p.m. Activities in the tent will be between 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The VIP tent will be located in the pits. Those interested in purchasing a VIP ticket may do so on race day at the VIP check-in area located near the pit entrance. Cash or checks will only be accepted on race day for the VIP tickets. Thank You.
VIP tickets will be on sale for fans on race day for $75 each person. Each VIP ticket includes access to the VIP tent that is located in the pits, complimentary snacks and beverages, grandstand seating, pit pass, and a 1:24 scale autographed Matt Kenseth DeWalt Action Gold Series Die-Cast Car, a $59 value.
Matt & Ross will be visiting the VIP tent to participate in a question & answer session along with former Green Bay Packers Gilbert Brown and William Henderson, who will be on hand to help raise money for the Gilbert Brown Foundation.
General admission race day tickets are $15 for ages 12 and up, $5 for ages 6-11, and 5 and under are FREE. Pit passes which include general grandstand admission, are $30. Ages 14-18 must have a notarized consent to enter the pits. Under age 14 are not allowed in the pits per MIS regulations.
A reminder that general admission tickets for the Milwaukee Mile event will NOT be honored at MIS. The Milwaukee Mile has stated that those tickets will be used for a future event at The Mile.
