Just Need To Clear My Brain Blog7/5/2024 We have all heard therapists, friends, family, counselors, teachers, etc. always say that sometimes putting things down in writing will clear your mind, especially when you have many things swirling inside your head. That is what I am doing in this blog, just clearing my mind with random thoughts.
This will go all over the place and not be well organized...just what crossed my mind as I type this out. My way of doing this will hopefully come across in thoughtful and humorous ways. Have fun reading and I bet you probably share the same thoughts or have a 180 degree difference of opinion. Racing Thought - If we had social media back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's, would drivers like Dick Trickle, Joe Shear, Tom Reffner, Jim Sauter, Larry Detjens, and other Midwest racing heroes would be scrutinized like the Ty Majeski's, Bubba Pollard, and any young successful driver under 18 is today? Would Gary Balough's criminal record cause him not to be the folk hero that he is today, but rather be someone shamed and lambasted by ignorant keyboard warriors making comments before facts are presented? I just wonder how history would be looked at if social media wasn't around in some instances. Political Thought - Is it really the Democrats or Republicans screwing up the country, or is it "We the People?" Think about it, WE the people are the ones who continuously vote these egotistical buffoons back into their respective elective position every time. Are they really working for their constituents or for their loathing selves to get the best sound bites on television and social media? I mean c'mon how many of you really do go into the ballot box to re-elect a Congressperson or Senator in their 70's and 80's to another term? WE the people need to do a better job as the human resource department of the United States government by firing people for poor performance or push them into retirement. Just look at what is happening now with our President...it's embarrassing, yet WE the people will still go into the voting booth and vote for someone who sucks at their job or shouldn't be in their job. And, if you say you don't vote, well you are a bigger problem. You need to take few minutes and do your responsible duty, because a non vote keeps idiots on Capital Hill. Personal Thought - A few years ago, I admitted to myself that I have anxiety and depression issues. Maybe some social anxiety issues at times. I am on medication and I am glad to say that it is working and very happy with who I am today. I feel more calm in tough situations. My brain isn't always in an elevated, ready to explode mode, but a more calming mode. Bottom line, is that I am not ashamed of admitting it not only to myself, but also to a professional like my doctor, who can give me the help. The same with my weight as well. Bottom line is don't be embarrassed to help yourself. No one says you are required to share it on social media, friends or family, but do it for yourself to make yourself better. You will enjoy your life more. Whew...glad I got this stuff out of my head and on paper. May need to do this again. :-)
